Northwest Oklahoma Osteopathic Foundation Scholarship

The Northwest Oklahoma Osteopathic Foundation offers a scholarship program for high school seniors interested in a career as a physician.  Students must be residents of NW Oklahoma.  The amount is a one-time gift of $1000 made payable to the university of the student’s choice.  Students are also eligible for the Foundation’s mentoring program.

The Betty Luetkemeyer Memorial Scholarship

Additionally, there is a scholarship opportunity for students in Okeene.  The Betty Luetkemeyer Memorial Scholarship was created to assist Okeene students pursue a career in health care.  Priority is given to students who are interested in nursing.


STUDENT SUPPORT/RECRUITMENT

HIGH SCHOOL – In addition to its scholarship awards, the Foundation is developing a program to introduce students to a career as a physician.  Plans include classroom visits from physicians, a hands-on medical camp and connecting students to OSU’s Operation Orange events.

PRE-MED - The Foundation’s mentoring program encourages pre-med students as they navigate their journey toward medical school.  The Foundation offers networking events, physician shadowing opportunities, and MCAT prep help in the form of a financial reimbursement.

RECRUITMENT – The NWOOF will have an active presence at career fairs and medical schools as we launch a physician recruitment program.  The Foundation will also be providing a financial incentive to physicians willing to make a multi-year commitment to NW Oklahoma.


COMMUNITY GRANTS

The Foundation’s Community Grants program has given more than $800,000 to help area non-profits.  Deadline is March 31.


Northwest District Osteopathic Society (NWDOS)

The Foundation works alongside the NWDOS to provide educational and entertainment opportunities for its members at no charge. The Foundation acts as the administrative arm of the society and sponsors each of the programs, covering the cost of our dinner/drinks.
